Royal Botanic Gardens, Hobart
Gouache
The Royal Botanic Gardens in Hobart were established in 1818, being the second oldest Botanical Gardens in Australia – the Sydney Botanic gardens were founded two years earlier. They overlook the Derwent River, having a view of the Tasman Bridge, and are located next to Government House.
The Gardens are a meeting place, a concert venue, a place of beauty and sunshine in southern Tasmania. I challenged myself to capture some of this on a recycled piano key in gouache.
Size: 19 × 17.3 cm
