Lavender Bay

Mixed media, Oil, charcoal, paper and ink.

This work is mixed media comprising of oil, charcoal, paper and ink on canvas.
on a trip to Lavender Bay to visit Wendy Whiteley's secret garden and the home of Brett Whiteley where he produced his Lavender Bay works.
As I walked along the pier I stopped and sat looking from the bay back towards Whiteley's house taking in the amazing view and the secrets that would be in Wendy's garden.
I took a moment to capture the opposite prospective of Whiteley's Lavender Bay works as if I may have been part of his view. I wanted to capture this moment and the emotion I was feeling. In producing this work I leant heavily on the blue pallet. And arranged the painting to suit what I felt and was picturing.
I wanted to express the colour and life of the landscape in front of me.
Parts detailed, parts obscure.

Size: 1.225 × 0.920 cm
