Andrea Chapman
Coolabah Walk

They walk the Coolabah Track
Shadows stretch up to steal the last of the sunshine
Hands linked, a language without words
Feet bare on powder dust
Shadows and shapes merge
And two become one.

About Andrea Chapman

Central Queensland artist Andrea Chapman spent her early childhood in the small mining town of Gunpowder in far north-west Queensland leading to a love of the natural landscape.

Andrea describes her first painting at the age of fifteen as a personal response to seeing the light and its power to simplify the subject. Decades of art practice has helped develop a plethora of ways to paint the visceral reaction to light. This journey included four years of academic study leading to a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art and Visual Culture).
