And then there was water – Lake Eyre

Acrylic

Banded stilts flocking to the normally dry salt lakes of Kati Thanda - Lake Eyre, after sporadic rains fill the lakes to provide nesting and feeding areas. This aerial view captures the mesmerising pink hues of Lake Eyre and transports us on the birds’ blissful journey. A vast and fascinating area of our country, where colourless water creates life and vibrancy.

About Annakie Jordaan

Artistic practices such as Interior Design and Wedding stylist have always been part of my journey. Art is an amazing tool for me to put down all the vibrant colours I love so much and make something that wasn’t there before while expressing living a creative life. Some of my painting stories reflect nostalgia, a window of memories of South Africa. Yet, Australia's people and their connections to the culture and land and the warmth and diversity of the Australian landscapes has inspired me to create art that speaks to my soul. I would describe my artwork as painterly representative.
