Ember Horizon
Oil
Ember Horizon captures a fleeting moment of tension and transcendence in nature. A dark green sky presses low over a vast coral plain, where a break in the heavy clouds releases a warm, radiant light that rises defiantly upward. This glowing rift becomes a quiet force of hope against the looming atmosphere. In the foreground, a twisted tree rendered in deep reds and rich, fiery tones anchors the composition—scarred yet luminous, it stands as a witness to the sky’s transformation. The painting explores the contrasts between heaviness and light, despair and renewal, permanence and change. The colour palette evokes both the natural world and something more internal—a landscape of emotion as much as terrain. At 76 x 100 cm and framed in oak, Ember Horizon invites the viewer to pause at the edge of something shifting, where darkness breaks and light insists on being seen.
Size: 103 × 79 cm
