Tree by Creek, Gippsland
oil paint, ink and toner on aluminium composite.
'Tree by Creek, Gippsland' is part of a series of paintings I made of the banks of the Sale River last Autumn. It represents the development of an approach I have been trying to take over the last 2 years. This involves painting over an abstract ground comprising ink and toner, then using stencils and scrapers as well as other more traditional techniques to produce realistic textures which best reflects my memory of the place.
Size: 69 × 67 cm

About Nick Offer
I live in Canberra and have a studio at the M16 Artspace there. My work focuses on landscape, portraiture and figurative painting, often combining mixed media with traditional painting.
My work has featured in many solo shows and award exhibitions in Australia and abroad. Last year I was honoured to be awarded the Doyles Landscape First Prize. Currently, a large portrait and landscape are finalists in the Figurativas 25 Awards and are due to be shown at the Museum of European Fine Art in Barcelona for several months this Autumn.
