ARINA APOSTOLOVA
Australian honeyeater
Oil on board
This painting was inspired by the nature I observed during my time on the Gold Coast. I was drawn to the small, often overlooked moments: the colours, textures and quiet interactions.
The bird sitting on the banksia became a simple but striking subject. I was interested in capturing its presence and the natural balance between the plant and the animal.
Working on a raw surface allowed me to keep the feeling direct and immediate, without overworking the image. I wanted to focus on observation and atmosphere rather than perfection.
This piece reflects my interest in slowing down and paying attention to the details of the natural world, and finding beauty in these everyday moments.
Size: 20 × 25 cm
