SkyRidge, the $1.5 billion master-planned community in Worongary, has continued its commitment to Gold Coast arts and the 2023 The Doyles Art Award & Exhibition through sponsorship and public art installations.

As proud platinum sponsors of The Doyles, SkyRidge is also preparing to unveil a large-scale sculpture by local artist Mike Van Dam near the entrance to the community.

The awe-inspiring sculpture will feature a pair of large-scale hands woven from stainless steel chains in a welcoming gesture, greeting everyone entering SkyRidge.

An expert in stainless steel due to his previous profession as a sheet metal worker, Mr Van Dam’s passion for contemporary art and sculpture was forged in 2010 after attending the SWELL Sculpture Festival at Currumbin Beach.

Since then, he has created astonishing structures crafted from 4mm and 6mm 316 marine-grade stainless steel chain, made up of over 830,000 welds meticulously linked together to make varying shapes and forms that result in cathartic, mesmerising works.

Another public art piece, to be completed later this year, is also being strategically positioned along Welcome Avenue, an art wall constructed with three separate hand painted murals exploring deep connectivity with nature.

The addition of the public art pieces, the expansive network of large open green spaces, parkland and recreation areas, and the environmental corridor will all make SkyRidge a highly sought-after place to live.

An exciting new stage in the evolution of SkyRidge is the recent announcement of the display village, to be known as SkyRidge HomeShow , that will showcase the types of homes being built on the unique estate.
