A Piece Torn from the Morning

Light is the inspiration for my watercolour paintings. My content is always about nature’s gifts, I believe its beauty is unsurpassed. In my artwork I create an interplay between realism and stylisation. My focus here is not so much what can be seen but the atmosphere and sensations of a location of where the sand meets the sea. The energy of the waves and textures of the rocks, and even the salt in the breeze, is part of Nature’s Divine package.

About Dellene Strong
When I was younger, I was heavily involved in painting but that all stopped once I became a teacher in my early twenties. It was only after I retired in my early sixties when I had the opportunity to resume painting and reawakening this passion. Over the past decade watercolour painting is my first port of call.
Currently I see my work as a way to bring the natural world into our busy lives and ultimately encourage others to see the beauty and energy of our surrounds.
