This painting was inspired by the interplay of light and shadow, cast by the afternoon sun filtering through the trees in King George’s park, along the banks of Parramatta River in Sydney. As the sun light shifted it transformed the landscape into a dynamic tapestry of movement and stillness - a quiet moment where nature, and time seemed suspended.

Through this work, I sought to capture, not only the visual beauty of that fleeting scene, but also the emotional resonance : it held a sense of calm presence and connection to place. The composition explores how light interacts with form, how shadows suggests depth and mystery, and how these natural rhythms can evoke reflection in the viewer
