“Alps, Low Cloud High Ground”
Acrylic on canvas
Alps, Low Cloud, High Ground is an exploration of atmosphere and restraint within the Australian landscape. Low cloud settles across elevated ground, obscuring and revealing in equal measure, flattening distance and softening form. Painted through an intuitive, layered process, the work prioritises mood over description. I am drawn to these in-between conditions where light is diffused and the landscape becomes quieter, more introspective. The painting speaks to a sense of stillness and distance, while holding a subtle familiarity drawn from places I know well.
Size: 122 × 92 cm
