Christopher Vidal
Evening Light Near the Snowy River

Oil on Linen

Painted en plein air, this oil painting captures the tranquil beauty of the Snowy River region in southeastern Australia during the last light of day. The golden glow of the evening sun spreads across the grassy wetlands and gently rippling water, while distant mountains bask in soft purples and warm amber hues. The tops of distant eucalyptus trees are bathed in warm light, while their lower forms melt into the encroaching dusk. While painting this scene on location, surrounded by nature, I aimed to capture the stillness, clarity, and quiet strength of the fleeting moment just before nightfall.

Size: 30 × 23 cm

$600
