Gloomy Bottles
Acrylic on canvas, this piece uses the chiaroscuro technique contrasting between light and dark.
A still life piece showing shadows and light, the artwork depicts the stillness of everyday objects, in this case bottles. The light reflection of each bottle stands out, and the dark colours help the contrast with the light defining the form and volume of the bottles.
The muted colours chosen help depict Kitty's title “Gloomy Bottles”. Although the subject matter can be seen as mundane, the human experience on the artwork is something which can be seen as a meditation on the physical world.
