About Sigrid Patterson

Based in the hinterland of Byron Bay on the east coast of Australia, Sigrid works in both oil and acrylic paint. Many of her pieces embrace the story telling power of flowers. She has extended this use of floriography in her still life genre to include Australian native plants, favourite and found vessels and mementos.
Sigrid’s paintings represent social commentary on issues such as the environment, diversity, inclusion, and the building of strong communities though, at other times, her paintings are for the pure beauty that she sees in the subjects. All of her work represents hope, resilience and courage.
