I have enjoyed the pursuit of layering and depth in this work. A well-known Quandamooka tradition says Bummiera ( Brown lake, North Stradbroke ) is a women’s place, strongly connected with women, children, fertility and care for Country. This painting is dedicated to all Quandamooka women who have cared, nurtured and loved their children. Also, a broader dedication to all Mothers and Grandmothers worldwide. Especially noting my wife, who is extraordinary in these matters.

Physical mark making on 2 dimensional surfaces has been a life long pursuit. I am constantly experimenting in my artistic practice. Started painting at an early age. Diploma in Graphic Design between 77-79. 82 freelanced commercially. Lived in Europe from 84-86. Studio in Stockholm. Designer for 17 years in Sydney. Moved to Tamborine Mountain 02. Work is represented in collections over Europe, USA and Australasia. Awards: HC at St Bernards Art Prize. RJ Ambler Portrait prize QLD RNA 06. 2nd Landscape 07 & 10 in The Doyles.
