Miami beach shack
Acrylic on cradled wood panel
The simplicity and colours of the Miami beach shack point to bright times of shared family holidays and ocean play. In some ways, beach shacks represent nostalgia for the latter half of the 1900’s and an escape from the dull and ordinary. In other ways, they serve as a reprieve from the constant development and change that is the Gold Coast. The limited palette energised my portrayal of twilight coastal moments.
