Kym paints from life using the energy of the moment and her observations to create intimate soft pastel paintings of people and landscapes. Often she focuses on creating an imagined colour palette rather than local colour to create mood, as well as bold mark making to interpret her subjects.
She has received numerous awards in both Australia & New Zealand for her pastel paintings and was recently awarded an artist member honour award within the New Zealand pastel community. Kym has also recorded a television episode of 'Colour In Your Life' showcasing her portrait technique.
