PETE VS INDIE
Acrylic on canvas
Goal: To convey the quiet desperation of Indie as she leans into Pete’s ice-cream.
Subtly flinching from indie’s advance, my husband, Pete, quickly devours the treat before the hot Queensland sun, and our voracious Indie steals what is rightfully his after a hard day’s work.
Enjoying studying the detail in all things I paint, this subject presented with many variations in colours and textures of skin, fur, fabric, wood, foliage, ice-cream etc.
A learning journey with each brushstroke.
Size: 94 × 124 cm
$9500

About Cristina Van Loon
Art has always been a passion since I was very young. Though always a subject of great interest, life happened, and it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve picked up my art journey from where I left off.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts, Fashion Design (R.M.I.T.), and have been teaching kids art since 2011.
I am now pursuing my own freelance painting career, taking on commissions, and painting subjects of personal interest and inspiration.
My hope is to share in the wonder and beauty of what can be seen in the mundane, the magnificent, and everything in between.
