This work explores the tension between stillness and motion, capturing a fleeting moment where a figure stands illuminated against a world in flux. The sharp subject contrasts with rushing lights, evoking relentless momentum. Calm yet resolute, the figure becomes a reminder of presence within constant acceleration of contemporary urban life.
Momentum here is both external and internal: the external pull of society’s ever evolving existence, and the internal momentum of self, choosing one’s path despite the chaos. The interplay between light and darkness emphasizes this duality through movement as energy, urgency, and inevitability, balanced by human appearance. This piece asks: how do we exist within unstoppable momentum? Are we carried by it, resisting it, or choosing to move with intention through it?

Seth green is an emerging Brisbane based artist, aged 18 he explores contemporary themes of self in relation with our surrounding world, encapsulating unique experiences that connect us all. He mostly focuses on figurative representations, merging the sitter with indistinct environments. Currently studying Industrial Design at Queensland University of Technology, he aspires to establish a career within Australia’s creative industries, building on his previous achievements.
