I have always held a fascination for lipstick, and its transformative power. Equal parts talismanic, equal parts a means for expression, it is also a fitting symbol of the performative aspects of femininity and self-presentation. Minimalist in its composition, Talisman III pays homage to one of the ways in which we might simultaneously conceal and reveal aspects of our identity.

About Tia Scott
Tia Scott is a multi-disciplinary artist and teacher who lives in Canungra, Qld. She has a Bachelor of Visual Arts/Bachelor of Education (Secondary). Tia won first prize in the Oil & Acrylic category of the 2022 Ocean Shores Art Expo, and has been a finalist in a number of awards including the Border Art Prize (2020, 2014), Olive Cotton Prize (2015), and the Zart National Teacher-Artist Prize (2021).
