Rachel Scholich
The Emu and The Kangaroo

Oil

A captivation portrait to honour Uncle Mickey Kumatpi Marrutya O'Brien. Captured in oil paint, using brush and knife on a linen canvas, Rachel Scholich paints with bold strokes to convey his confidence and passion whilst story telling and teach about how the 'Emu' and the 'Kangaroo' was embedded into the landscape of Adelaide city. Adorned in his distinguished tradition attire, Uncle Mickey holds his ancestral tools with pride. The Emu and the Kangaroo is a celebration of culture and heritage.

Size: 80 × 145 cm
