This painting shows a part of the ‘tool wall’ and benchtop adjacent to where I paint in my studio. As an artist I spend plenty of time cutting timber, making frames, stretching canvases etc, so this picture represents the engine room of my artistic practice. The folder and note pad in the foreground are used for jotting down thoughts about art and possible painting titles

I am a full-time professional artist living and working in the hinterland of the Gold Coast. I predominantly paint landscapes but I do dabble in other subjects like still life when the mood takes me and the occasional self portrait, mainly because I'm always around.
