This painting captures a fleeting moment at Snapper Rocks, where the power of the Pacific meets the stillness of twilight. The scene is not just about landscape — it’s about tension and release, about standing at the edge of something vast and untamed. As the sun sinks behind streaks of cloud and the waves crash against ancient rock, the coastline feels alive, pulsing with memory and momentum.
In this work, I was drawn to the contrast between light and shadow, motion and pause. The waves surge forward as if carrying the weight of all that has come before — a visual echo of how we often return to the sea in search of clarity, renewal, or reckoning.
Through expressive brushwork and layered tones, Twilight at Snapper is a meditation on nature’s resilience and emotional force — a place where inner turbulence meets outer beauty, and the day exhales into night.
