After painting the autumn colour outdoors I decided I wanted to explore the same colour palette in a Still Life setting. I collected a variety of leaves from my local area and set up in front of my favourite window that gets the afternoon light. This piece is a painterly celebration of light and colour.

Natasha Ruschka is an oil painter currently based in Canberra
Her artistic journey started as an expat living in the USA in 2016 where she fell in love with outdoor painting and the fast and direct “alla prima” approach to painting with oils.
Natasha’s approach to art is centered around painting as a practice from life, sketches, and reference photographs, regularly painting outdoors as well as setting up studio compositions.
She produces pieces that are loose in brushstrokes and fresh in colour with a playful painterly energy.
