As an artist, painting a portrait is an intuitive collaboration between myself and the sitter. I strive to capture the unique essence of the person on the canvas. “Dare to Fly" expresses Steve Davis' lifelong passion for nature conservation.
Nature is under Steve’s skin, symbolised by the intricate texture pattern of leaves all over his body. The soul connection to nature is reflected in the shadow of leaves cast upon his body. His deep concern for the degradation of the environment has driven him to make activism and conservation in Australia, a priority in his life.
"Dare to Fly" encourages us to be amazed by the beauty of nature and to dare to fight for our environment. The painting is a testament to the power of one person's commitment and the difference we can all make when we stand up for what we believe in.

Method of shipment is through Aramex Courier Services road freight services.
We currently ship to Australian locations only. We cannot deliver to PO Boxes.

Petronella van Leusden is an acclaimed artist based in Mudgeeraba, Her artistic journey began at the prestigious Dutch Royal Academy of Art (KABK). Currently, Petronella organises meetings for the Pastel Society on the Gold Coast and serves as a Master Pastellist instructor at demonstrations and workshops.
