Crowdy Head Lighthouse
Acrylic
In my painting of Crowdy Head lighthouse, I aim to capture not just a structure, but a story of resilience and time. Standing tall against the elements, this beacon of the past speaks of journeys taken and journeys yet to come. Using acrylics and a palette knife, I sought to convey the lighthouse's weathered facade, its surface textured with the marks of time and weather. The bright colors I chose symbolize hope and strength, contrasting with the rugged, exposed nature of the lighthouse itself. My inspiration for this piece came from a windy day visit to the lighthouse, feeling its solid presence amidst the elements. It reminded me of the beauty in things that endure, of the stories etched into its walls by the harsh elements. Through this painting, I hope to share not just a scene, but a feeling— a sense of vivid optimism and security.
