Brenda Bryant
Ancient Guardian of the Rainforest
Oil on canvas
Lamington National Park's lush rainforests include one of the largest upland subtropical rainforests remnants in the world. The roots of the oldest Antarctic beech trees are over 5,000 years old. The name, Binna Burra, where these ancient trees reside, is an Aboriginal word meaning "where the beech tree grows". This painting is my interpretation of this ancient wonder of the world!
Size: 61 × 122 cm

About Brenda Bryant
When Brenda retired to the beautiful Tweed Valley in Northern New South Wales some 12 years ago, she was then able to indulge in taking art classes in Murwillumbah and start painting, initially with soft pastels, moving to acrylics, oil pastels and oils. Art completely took me over! She now concentrates on painting with oil and has been successful in receiving commendations at various art competitions and has sold many of her paintings. I spend a lot of time in the subtropical rainforests near my home, and that is what I have concentrated on in my paintings.
