Ancient Antarctic Beech Trees, Springbrook National Park
watercolour
This work is my tribute to the ancient Antarctic Beech trees on the border ranges at Springbrook Plateau, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia UNESCO World Heritage sites. The approximate age of these trees originating from a single seed is 2,000-3,000 years old. These three parent trees of this beech forest leaves one with a feeling of awe and a sense of the incredible example of survival and inter-connectiveness of all living things on planet earth.
Size: 66 × 86 cm
