We all need to find a quiet place to be absorbed by nature, away from people, away from drama, away from technology. Only then can you find peace and feel a sense of true belonging.
This picture was inspired by a visit to Horseshoe falls in Tasmania. I was so struck by the beauty and serenity here that it seemed time slowed. Despite the sound of the waterfall there was a sense of stillness around me and in that moment I felt truly at peace.
The use of a limited palette, the filtered light and the shadows wrap you like a blanket and lead your eye to focal point of the picture.

About Paul Hendley
If anyone asked me how much my first pay cheque was that made me give up on my dream of a career in art I’d be embarrassed to answer. Fortunately, after many years of wage slavery, I now have the time to indulge my passion and explore the possibilities of what I can achieve. As a self-taught artist with minimal painting experience every piece of work I create is an experiment. As with all artists I try to ignore the ‘happy accidents’ as I take this voyage of discovery to see what’s over the next horizon.
