Oils
Country is a meditation on connection to the land and the natural world. Working in oils, I am drawn to the way colour and texture hold atmosphere through layering and attention. The magpies are part of my everyday landscape, familiar and constant, carrying both stillness and song. Through tones of golden yellow and green, the work explores my sense of belonging as a migrant—felt as much as seen. Country reflects on being within the lands of the Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples, acknowledging their enduring connection to Country, past and present.
