Harsh Blue on the Late Bird
This artwork depicts a harsh Australian, mid-summer, blue sky on a bird that was not an early riser. Like the saying 'the early bird gets the worm', the early birds did get the worms, leaving this late to wake bird without any food. This meaning can be interpreted as a meaning akin to the saying of 'if you snooze, you lose' which is a saying I've heard a lot of in my life so far which really struck home with me when I saw a lonesome bird staring down from a tree at a pack of similar birds eating worms at the bottom.
