I immigrated to Australia 15 years ago. Whenever I miss home, I cook a warm meal and take my time to savour the flavours. As I eat, memories begin to surface—meals shared with family and friends, the conversations we had, and the quiet feeling that everything would be alright. This bowl of noodles is more than a meal; it is a return to warmth, to family, and to the love we all carry with us. A hug from within.
In this painting, I wanted to hold onto that feeling. The rich, glowing broth and layered ingredients reflect not just flavour, but emotion—warmth that lingers beyond the table. Set against a dark background, the bowl becomes a quiet light, much like those memories that continue to sustain me, even far from where they began.
