This coloured pencil work documents artichokes gathered from my garden. They celebrate seasonal abundance and fleeting opportunity. Detailed mark-making and luminous colour give weight to these otherwise humble vegetables.

About Felicite Briggs
Based in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, Felicite Briggs uses drawing as a slow, intimate form of observation. Her work centres on encounters with food, personal objects and domestic life.
Felicite’s preferred medium is coloured pencils because of their portability, vibrant colour range, and the level of detail she can achieve with them, in her drawing practice. Her works are held in private collections throughout Australia and have been widely exhibited and awarded across NSW.
