After Dark
Acrylic
This piece explores the quiet emotional weight held within everyday beauty. The flowers are not painted as perfect forms, but as shifting impressions: alive, fleeting, slightly undone, reflecting how we actually experience moments rather than how we idealise them.
The tension between light and shadow carries a sense of memory: warmth emerging through darker ground, much like resilience forming through lived experience. The vessels anchor the composition-grounded, imperfect, holding what is both vibrant and transient.
Size: 41 × 41 cm

About Anne Baritchi
I am a Gold Coast-based contemporary abstract-impressionist gallery artist. My work moves between representation and abstraction, where form dissolves into atmosphere and emotion takes precedence over detail. Guided by intuition, I build layered compositions through gestural brushwork and nuanced colour, exploring the tension between presence and impermanence.
Inspired by the rhythms of the natural world, my paintings become felt landscapes-quiet, immersive spaces where memory, light, and movement converge. Exhibited locally and internationally, my work invites a slower gaze, encouraging viewers to connect beyond what is seen, into what is subtly experienced.
