Bay of Fires 2
Oil on canvas
I selected this scene from a bay in Binalong Bay at the Bay of Fires, Tasmania. It is a very rocky area which stretches for approximately fifty kilometres on the East Coast. At first, one could be mistaken to think that many of the rocks have been painted with splashes of red-orange paint. At closer observation, the orange colour is a type of fungi. The waters in this area are beautiful shades of coeruleum blue and blue-green, which contrast with the orange colours of the rocks. Many of the rocks are huge boulders and quite amazing.
