TONI LUCAS
“EARLY MORNING RAYS”

ACRYLIC

My aim for this piece was to capture an early morning farm scene, with the dew on the grass, the smell of the bush, and the early morning sun’s rays breaking through, falling on this peaceful scene with the chooks and their chicks scratching around for their feed. The softness of the background provided a lovely contrast with the hard wooden walls of the barn, and I had to capture the early sunlight hitting the flowers against the barn wall, and highlighting that beautiful yellow of their petals. I feel the chickens and the rooster just wanted to be there too and the colours used in this work make it a very nostalgic and yet uplifting piece, a feel-good painting!

Size: 50 × 60 cm

About TONI LUCAS

As a local Gold Coast artist, Toni has plenty of inspiration here for a wide variety of works she creates. The beaches there provide many scenes for her works, but she also enjoys rural landscapes as well. Toni doesn’t limit her work just to landscapes and seascapes though, she is commissioned to paint portraits (people and animals), still life and flowers too, using either acrylics, watercolours or pastels…..she loves all these mediums equally. As she has been painting for over 40 years, her works hang in many homes in Australia and overseas.
