Paul Whitehead
Eggs and Bacon Bay

watercolour on wooden panel, primed with absorbent ground

In this watercolour painting, I have endeavoured to capture the serene beauty of this stunning vista overlooking Eggs and Bacon bay in Tasmania. Sheep graze peacefully, embodying the simplicity and tranquillity of the countryside. A working farm stands resilient, symbolizing human connection to the land and the timeless rhythm of agricultural life. I’m always amazed at the variety of colours of the Australian landscape … no palette fits all. I hope I have evoked a sense of calm and appreciation for the understated, yet profound, beauty of rural Australia.

Size: 129 × 61 cm
