Fifty Shades of Green
Oil on canvas
I use my love of colour to create oil paintings that showcase the vibrant beauty of life, from serene bodies of water to vivid blooms. Fifty Shades of Green was inspired by a stunning nature reserve in Port Macquarie, New South Wales. I was drawn to the way the sunlight enhanced the abundance of greenery in that hidden setting.
I enjoy trying different styles and have recently produced some artworks that appear more abstract. Currently, I'm exploring surrealism as a way to add a dreamlike quality to my paintings but overall, I want to continue producing pieces that brighten spaces and take people to happy places.
Size: 106 × 81 cm

About Elizabeth Dodds
I was born and raised in London and moved to Australia in 2015. Painting has always been a passion of mine and after years of working as a doctor, I have decided to focus more on art.
I'm often inspired by the beauty and vibrancy of nature and love using oil paints to create detailed images from photographs, with flora, landscapes and water taking prominence. Over the years, I've attended art workshops in Europe, Asia and here in the Gold Coast which have helped improve my technique and broaden my knowledge.
