Acrylics on canvas

The ultimate raw connection between two life forms in nature, animal and human.
Inspired by modern romanticism through a solitary eye. Fluidity of lines speak volumes of movement of the body while the solid unoccupied background creates a larger space for conversation and possibilities.

Size: 76 × 102 cm

About Hiranya Ranawake

An Australian figurative fine-artist practicing full-time, based in Redland Bay, QLD.

Prominent body of work is stylised figurative portraiture which has been mildly influenced by romanticism and symbolism yet progressively developed into a sophisticated unique style. Moody expressive body language and signature colourful line works discuss traditional ideas in a contemporary eye.

The artistic expressions and techniques cerebrate the artist's South Asian cultural heritage enriched by the traditional works of local masters, folklore and the studies of classical Indo-Aryan painting styles.
