Let’s Pause A Moment
Oil on canvas, framed in Oak
Having grown up and lived on the Gold Coast all my life, the hinterland is full of memories of special times growing up and is now a place of new discoveries with my own children. This painting was inspired by one of these rainforest walks, coming through the rainforest to a clearing where the water runs and the view opens up; a perfect place for a moment’s pause to take in the quietly breathtaking scene. Using a palette knife and thick brushwork, this highly textured oil piece captures the soft blue hills in the distance, with the dappled light coming through the leaves above. The soft, colours and gentle shapes evoke a sense a peace and calm that can be experienced when one takes the time to stop and take in gorgeous places like this one.
Size: 23 × 28 cm

About Charlotte Moore
Charlotte Moore, an emerging artist, has lived on the Gold Coast, Queensland, all her life. Her love of the area, its beautiful coastline and the hills which mark the transition from coast to country, inspire much of her work. Charlotte’s primary medium is oil paint and she works with an impressionist style, inspired by time spent in the natural environment. Both light and colour play an important role in her paintings, conveying a sense of calm and peace that comes from being immersed in nature, while also evoking a familiarity of Gold Coast scenes and the Australian landscape.
