Oil Can and Apple
Oil on Board
This still life explores light, reflection, and pattern through the contrast of everyday objects. The reflective surface of the oil can interacts with the bold striped background, creating movement and visual rhythm, while the apple introduces a softer, organic presence.
I was interested in how colour and repetition can transform a simple arrangement into something more dynamic and expressive. Balancing observation with painterly interpretation, the work brings attention to the quiet complexity of familiar forms.
Size: 20 × 20 cm
