Whale Watchers

Acrylic

Although Brisbane is home, the Tweed coast and Northern Rivers region are our regular getaway spots. Hastings Point our favourite vantage to watch the migration. If you are early enough to get a carpark it’s a popular place to take your chairs and enjoy the breaching, tail slapping and if you’re lucky and the wind is kind, listen to their calls. This couple had been setting up every day since the migration had begun.

About Sara Turnbull-Turia

For the most part Sara is self taught although while living in Abu Dhabi for a while she benefitted from the mentorship of a prominent Emirati artist and was encouraged to take part in exhibitions both there and Dubai. This experience was the springboard for new confidence, and nowadays she strives to capture in paint a sense of movement and atmosphere of place within our beautiful and diverse Australian landscapes and botanicals which greatly inspire her. Sara hopes with her brush work and deliberate soft approach to line and edge, her work may evoke a sense of serenity and calm.
